Limited Use/Limited Application Elevator
The Limited Use/Limited Application (abbreviated LULA) elevator is meant to be utilized by a small number of people on a light, as-needed basis. They are ideal for new or existing construction where space is limited. The LULA complies with all building construction and safety codes and ADA guidelines. A LULA elevator is often the preferred choice for schools, medical buildings, department stores, churches, temples, lodges, condos, restaurants, low rise office buildings. Home owners also choose the LULA elevator when looking for a commercial grade elevator that has a larger cab size than a residential elevator. The typical LULA elevator hoistway takes up 30 to 35 square feet compared to a full size commercial elevator hoistway which usually requires a minimum of 42 square feet. The pit depth for a LULA can be as low as 14 inches compared to a full size commercial elevator that requires a 48 inch deep pit. The required overhead clearance for a LULA is also far less than a full size commercial elevator. But the LULA is still a very powerful and versatile elevator for most applications. The LULA has a lifting capacity of 1400 pounds and an interior cab size of 18 square feet which is ample room for at least 6 people or a wheelchair and attendant. The LULA will also cost far less up front to install and will save even more in long term maintenance and service costs.
